Phil Higuera is an associate professor of fire ecology in the Department of Ecosystem and Conservation Sciences at the University of Montana. His research focuses on understanding how ecosystems and wildfire activity interact and change, over time scales of years to many centuries.
His talk will highlight our scientific understanding of the causes and consequences of wildfires in the Rocky Mountains, how fire activity is changing, and what scientists expect for rest of the 21st century.
